Kathmandu. Bhaktapur-based Jaya Shambhu Dairy Industry has said that the Bharatpur-based Prembasti Milk Producers’ Cooperatives have acted against the business interests. Krishna Gopal Sainju, chairman of the industry, said that the cooperative operators have misled the farmers saying that the industry has not paid the payment even after two years of the completion of the transaction to hide their shortcomings.

Issuing a press release on Sunday, Sainju urged the cooperatives not to be confused as the industry has not made any payment to them. “We are not yet to pay any amount for the milk purchased as per the agreement between the industry and the cooperative,” he said.

The evidence shows that the then chairman of the cooperative, Keshav Pandit, manager Sagar Parajuli, chairman of the dairy industry, Krishna Gopal Sainju and accountant Jenis Suwal had signed and settled the amount of milk purchased as per the agreement on December 10, 2080. Since then, the dairy industry has the proof of online and banking payments every 15 days.

According to the fifth condition of the agreement, the price of milk will be determined on the basis of quality if the fat of milk does not reach 4 percent and SNF 8 percent. In such a situation, the price of milk is fixed on the basis of the prevailing price and regular payment is made and the accounts are adjusted every 15 days after the cooperatives are satisfied, said Sainju.

He clarified that the industry had purchased milk by paying Rs 1.8 million in advance in the beginning and the account was settled every 15 days as per the agreement through written letters, not only verbal but also sub-standard quality. “If the organization is not satisfied, how will it be supplied regularly?” he wondered.

Issuing a press release, the industry has said that its attention has been drawn towards the personal insult, abuse and defamation meted out to Sainju for not paying the dues under the leadership of Ananda Niure, who became the chairman of the Prembasti Milk Producers’ Cooperative. The industry has also warned that it will be forced to seek legal remedies against such acts using social media.

Chairman Sainju said that the Prembasti Milk Producers’ Cooperatives has been accused of not paying the entrepreneurs instead of internal confirmation of the transactions of the old board of directors. One of the proprietors of the industry, Bishnu Bhakta Sintakala, said that the cooperative’s chairman Niure tore up the evidence of non-payment in front of the Assistant Chief District Officer last Thursday and misbehaved with him when he went to discuss the complaint at the District Administration Office, Chitwan. The industry has accused the industry of lodging complaints without any evidence and trying to destroy the evidences they had.

Stating that dairy farmers and dairy industries are complementary to each other, the industry has accused the cooperatives of cultivating power and confusion instead of putting their issues in accordance with the law. The press release urged the dairy farmers and the general public not to be misled.
