Rupandehi. Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Khadak Raj Poudel, has said that the Gautam Buddha International Airport will come into operation.

Speaking at a program organized by Tranquility Spa in Bhairahawa of Rupandehi on Friday, he said the government was doing necessary homework for the same.

“There is no truth in saying that the airport has not been operational due to political and diplomatic reasons,” he said. Stating that policy-level error was the main reason, Minister Poudel said that efforts were underway to rectify it.

Poudel said, “Arrangements have been made to get work permit staying at home. You don’t have to go to Kathmandu for this. ”

Minister Poudel said that there was a need to organize promotional programs to bring in tourists (passengers) rather than just taking Nepali workers abroad and bringing them home. He also said that Nijgadh airport should also be constructed in the future.
