Kathmandu. Import of cosmetics and cosmetics in Nepal has been steadily increasing. In the last period of the current fiscal year, around Rs 4.75 billion has been imported from various types of cosmetics.

According to the data of the Department of Customs, foreign currency worth Rs 3.81 billion has been imported from the country. According to the statistics of the Department of Customs, a large number of face creams, powders, lipsticks, makeup materials, nail polish, hair care products, perfumes and other cosmetics items have been imported in large quantities.

Especially women’s make-up products, skin and hair care products have been imported. According to the department’s data, face cream has become the most imported cosmetic item. Goods worth Rs 561.2 million have been imported from India in the first 11 months of the current fiscal year. Face cream worth Rs 95.7 million was imported from China, Rs 81.7 crore from South Korea and Rs 49.3 million from the Philippines.

In the first 11 months of the current fiscal year, India has been at the top of the list of body lotions. According to the data, body lotion worth Rs 25.48 crore was imported from India, Rs 32.9 crore from China and Rs 2.67 crore from Thailand.

China ranks first in lip makeup. Lip makeup worth Rs 154.1 million was imported from China while Rs 153.3 million was imported from India. Likewise, such goods have also been imported from Korea, Taiwan, Turkey and Thailand.

China is also the top importer of eye makeup materials. Goods worth Rs 75.4 million were imported from China and Rs 30.2 million from India. A significant quantity of eye make-up materials have been imported from Germany, Korea, Italy and the United States.

India is the largest importer of face powder. Face powder worth Rs 72.3 million was imported from India and Rs 34.6 million from China. Similarly, China’s share of nail polish imports is the largest. Nail polish worth Rs 21.1 million was imported from China while imports from India amounted to less than Rs 70 lakh.
