Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Lalitpur Metropolitan City (LMC) is to provide tax exemption to the service seekers under various headings in the coming fiscal year.
According to KMC, a 10 percent discount will be given if property tax and land tax are paid within mid-October of the fiscal year 2083/084. Similarly, 50 percent discount will be given in the registration of businesses run by single women, Dalits, people with disabilities or groups.
Farmers engaged in nursery, fruit farming and vegetable farming will be exempted from land rent tax.
Similarly, the houses built following the criteria of the World Heritage Site will be exempted from property tax. Similarly, the private sector will be exempted from the map permit fee for the management of parking for public facilities.
In the current fiscal year, business tax will be levied by 25 percent on the rate of tax determined while renewing the business.
In the case of industries and businesses that are yet to be renewed by the metropolis, the tax and penalty on the business and restoration tax up to the fiscal year 2074/075 has been waived if the entire outstanding amount is cleared by the end of Poush of the fiscal year 083/084.
In the case of a firm/company/business registered with various government bodies and has no transaction, the recommendation to close the business will be done only on the basis of the required documents for the purpose of closing the firm/company/business, the budget states that the business tax of 083/084 will be levied only on the basis of necessary documents.
