Global IME Bank Launches Mobile App to Block Account Without Login

KATHMANDU: Global IME Bank Limited has introduced a system that allows customers to block their accounts within a second without the need to login to mobile application to keep their deposits safe from digital banking frauds (phishing and scams). With the rise in the cases of online fraud due to lack of financial and digital literacy, the bank has put in place a strong security arrangement for the safety of the customers.
Customers can freeze their account by calling the bank’s official number 01-59706000 or manually through the bank’s mobile banking app ‘Global Smart Plus’.TAG_OPEN_div_16 The main feature of this technology is that the customer does not have to log in by entering the password or biometrics inside the app.
After opening the app, you will immediately freeze your bank account as soon as you select the ‘Account Block by Miscall’ option inside the call sign. Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has recently directed all commercial banks to immediately freeze their accounts on the basis of customers’ verbal or online requests.
