Kathmandu. Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Gauri Kumari Yadav, has decided to cut the allowance given to the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) for overtime.
Minister Yadav has taken this step to stop the unnecessary expenditure and irregularities of millions of rupees in the name of overtime in the NOC.
KATHMANDU: Homework has been forwarded to restructure the additional allowance under the title of ‘Service Facilities’ under the Employees Administration Regulations-2063 BS of Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) on the basis of ‘shift system’.
According to the statistics, the corporation has been spending up to Rs 130 million annually in the name of overtime allowance last year alone. Minister Yadav said that this kind of unnecessary expenditure has put a financial burden on the organization and it has also promoted irregularities.
After the implementation of the new system, instead of giving additional allowance to the employees, they will be mobilized by dividing them into different shifts on the basis of the nature of work. This decision is expected to significantly save on administrative expenses of the corporation and help maintain financial discipline within the corporation.
