Kathmandu. A special Kshama Puja was performed at the newly-constructed Jalpadevi Temple at Rajkanda of Mohanyal rural municipality-7 in Kailali district.
Former President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) Chandra Prasad Dhakal performed Kshama Puja amidst a special religious ritual held at the newly-constructed temple this morning.
In addition to this, the construction of the physical infrastructures at the top and bottom stations of the cable car is also going on at a rapid pace.
The cable car project, being constructed with the main investment of IME Group, will be commercially operated within the next two months.
The company has claimed that the project will be completed within the stipulated time as the construction work has reached its final stage.
The construction of the project, which is estimated to cost around Rs 6 billion in various phases, has reached the final stage of construction of the physical infrastructures including erecting poles, construction of bottom and top stations. After this, the main technical process will proceed with the work of pulling the wires and installing the gondolas.
The 3.1 km long cable car project from Chisapani of Lamkichuha Municipality-3 to Rajkanda of Mohanyal Rural Municipality-7 of Kailali is being constructed at the bottom station of five star hotels, casino, banquet hall and other infrastructures.
The basis of prosperity of the Far-West
The project, which is being constructed along with the panoramic geography of Nepal’s longest Karnali River and Chisapani Bridge, is seen as the foundation of economic and tourism development of Sudurpaschim Province. Local industrialists believe that hotel, transport, agriculture, trade and service sectors will directly benefit after the operation of the cable car and new doors of employment will be opened in this area.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Chairman Dhakal said that the private sector has been proving its capacity to complete the projects within the stipulated time, cost and quality. “We had started the construction of the Jalpadevi cable car project some 12 months ago,” Dhakal said, adding, “We are bringing the project into operation on schedule with the installation of the idol in the temple.” ”
Dhakal said that expanding investment in tourism infrastructure was imperative for the multi-dimensional economic transformation of Nepal. He was of the view that increasing investment in tourism infrastructure could prolong tourists’ stay, earn foreign currency and create employment opportunities. He clarified that he has a long-term goal of constructing such big tourism infrastructures in all seven provinces of the country.
Local entrepreneurs said that the project should be taken as a historic opportunity for the far-western region.
With the development of cable car and other infrastructure, employment will be created at the local level, economic activities will expand and the glory of this area will increase.
Locals believe that the cable car will establish Rajkanda as an excellent ‘hill station’ for those who want to escape the extreme heat of the Terai.
