11-point code of conduct for employees: Ban on Facebook, TikTok, consumption of alcohol in public places, no gambling

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation has implemented an 11-point ‘Code of Conduct-2083’ for civil servants.

The Ministry has issued an 11-point code of conduct to make the employees more disciplined, transparent and accountable.

According to the new code of conduct, employees should treat all citizens equally without any kind of discrimination.

The code of conduct prohibits posting of office-related photos and videos on social networks except publicity or educational related during office hours or in government attire.

It is mentioned that the dignity of government service and professional dignity should be maintained while using social networks like Facebook, X, TikTok.

Employees should not make statements through social networks in a way that hurts the dignity of the office-bearers or employees of any agency.

The code of conduct prohibits anyone from consuming alcohol, smoking, gambling and other indecent activities in office or public places.

Employees should not be allowed to take personal, family or institutional benefits by misusing their position or authority, they should not take decisions on matters related to personal interest and government property, information system and equipment should not be misused.

Employees have been asked to complete their assigned responsibilities on time, be present regularly during office hours, wear identity cards mandatory, protect confidential information and behave respectfully with service recipients.
