Kathmandu. The government has started distributing passports through the new system.

Minister for Foreign Affairs Shishir Khanal on Monday handed over passports to Oscar Gurung and Nimesh Shahi at the Department of Passport.

Prior to this, the French company IDEMIA had been printing Nepali passports for the past 15 years. The passports printed by German companies have started from today.

The Department has stated that biggest data migration in Nepal’s history has been successfully conducted and new passport service has been brought into operation.
