Nepal Rastra Bank imposes Rs 2,924 fine on Reliance Finance for not discharging cash deposit

. KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has slapped a fine of Rs 2,924.48 on Reliance Finance for not maintaining its mandatory cash reserve.

The Financial Institutions Supervision Department of the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has made public the details of the action taken against the licensed ‘B’ class development banks and ‘C’ class finance companies during the fourth quarter of the fiscal year 2082-83 BS and has taken action against Reliance Finance under Section 100 of the Nepal Rastra Bank Act, 2058.TAG_OPEN_div_10

According to the details, Reliance Finance has imposed Rs 2,924.48 as per the prevailing arrangement as it has not maintained the mandatory cash reserve from Falgun 10, 2082 to April 10, 2083.TAG_OPEN_div_8

The Nepal Rastra Bank (TAG_OPEN_div_6 NRB) has stated that banks and financial institutions are required to maintain mandatory cash reserves and will take penalties and other regulatory actions as per the law.
