World Nepali Knowledge Conference-2027 to be held in collaboration with NRNA

. Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) has intensified its preparations for the Fourth World Nepali Knowledge Conference-2027 BS. In connection with the preparations for the conference, the NRNA delegation held separate meetings with the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation and presented the concept paper for the conference.

During the meeting, NRNA Vice-President and Head of Skills, Knowledge and Technology Transfer Department Dr.TAG_OPEN_div_26 Gyanendra Regmi spoke about the need of linking knowledge, skills, technology and experience of Nepali experts, scientists, researchers, technicians and entrepreneurs with the national priorities. He said the conference will not only be a discussion forum but will not only be a discussion but will also become a common forum for result-oriented collaboration among the government, academic and research institutions, private sector and Nepali experts from around the world.

Recalling the 1st World Nepali Knowledge Conference held in 2018, Foreign Minister Pokharel said such conferences had played significant role in expanding knowledge exchange and collaboration among Nepali experts in Nepal and around the world.TAG_OPEN_div_24 He also said the government was positive to provide necessary cooperation for the success of the 4th World Nepali Knowledge Conference-2027 BS and expressed the government’s commitment to utilize knowledge and experience of Nepalis living abroad for Nepal’s development.

On the occasion, NRNA Vice-President and Chief of Non-Resident Nepali Welfare Department, Rojina Pradhan Rai urged the government to implement the Non-Resident Nepali Citizenship Act, give final shape to the NRNA Act at the earliest and implement facilities like land, investment, banking, visa and driving license.TAG_OPEN_div_22 In response, the Foreign Minister said that preparations were underway to amend some legal provisions related to property, investment and visa.

The delegation also met with Pushpa Raj Bhattarai, Chief of Labour, Migration and Nepali Diaspora Coordination Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and discussed the preparations for the World Knowledge Summit-2027, the Non-Resident Nepali Act, government-NRNA coordination and the utilization of knowledge and skills of Nepali Diaspora for Nepal’s development.TAG_OPEN_div_20 Preparations for Europe and Asia-Pacific Regional Summit were also exchanged.

Meanwhile, the delegation also met with Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation Mahabir Pun and presented the concept paper of the conference.TAG_OPEN_div_18 Stating that the Summit could make significant contributions in building innovation, research, technology development and knowledge-based economy in Nepal, the leaders said, adding that the collaboration between the two countries could be significant.

Minister Pun pointed out the need to effectively connect knowledge and experience of Nepali experts, scientists, researchers and entrepreneurs living abroad with Nepal’s development.TAG_OPEN_div_16 Stating that preparations were underway to bring the brain gain centre into operation again, he said the active participation of Nepali experts from around the world was essential to make the campaign a success.

The fourth World Nepali Knowledge Conference-2027 will be held in January 2027.TAG_OPEN_div_14 The conference aims to create a base for long-term collaboration among the government, educational and research institutions, private sector and Nepali Diaspora linking their knowledge, research, innovation, technology and experience with the national priorities of good governance, economic transformation and sustainable development.
