Kathmandu. Minister for Youth, Labour and Employment Ramji Yadav held a meeting with the office-bearers of the Footwear Manufacturers Association Nepal (FMAN) on July 17.

Minister Yadav met after the directive of Prime Minister Shah.

It is said that the meeting was held with the representatives of the Association regarding skill development and creation of employment opportunities for Nepali youths.

During the meeting, they discussed the skills to be learned from the past skills, training and employment programs by developing skilled manpower required in the footwear industry.

The meeting also discussed areas of cooperation in the footwear industry in the future.

On the occasion, Minister Yadav said that the Ministry was committed to making collaboration between the government and the private sector including the footwear industry more effective, result-oriented and sustainable in order to make the ‘Decade of Internal Employment Promotion Decade’ a success.

During the meeting, the representatives of the footwear industry pledged to provide employment to 18,000 to 20,000 people. The important role of the private sector in creating opportunities for the youths in the country by creating internal employment in the country was discussed. During the meeting, it was also discussed that the government would continue to collaborate to produce skilled human resources and provide employment to the private sector.

It is believed that this dialogue and cooperation will be of special importance to establish a labour and employment system in order to create a suitable environment for decent labour to create employment.
