Sunsari’s Dewangunj incident: Ex-President Bhandari calls for maintaining social harmony

. KATHMANDU: Former President Bidya Devi Bhandari has called for adopting high restraint in the present sensitive situation. She has also requested everyone not to make any kind of rumors and provocative statements.

Issuing a press release today, former President Bhandari said that serious attention has been drawn towards the incidents of communal tension and violence that have surfaced in some places of the country including Sumseri in the past few days.TAG_OPEN_div_10 She expressed her heartfelt condolence to the deceased and wished for the speedy recovery of the injured.

“The rule of law, mutual trust and continuous dialogue would lead to a lasting solution to such problems,” she said, urging the Government of Nepal, the concerned administrative bodies and security bodies to carry out a fair, transparent and credible investigation into the incident, take action against the culprits, ensure justice to the victims, and take all necessary steps to restore peace, security and people’s confidence in the affected areas.TAG_OPEN_div_6
