Kathmandu. Major highways and roads have been obstructed due to incessant rain.

Releasing details till 5:00 am today, Nepal Police said more than a dozen road sections have been affected due to landslides, road erosion and possible floods.

Vehicular movement has been prohibited along the Khurkot-Nepalthok-Katunjebesi road section from 6:00 pm to 4:00 am in view of possible flooding along the Kavrepalanchowk-Sindhuli BP Highway. Arrangements have been made for the operation of vehicles from 4 am to 6 pm.

Similarly, all types of vehicles have been banned on the Kanti Highway from 5:00 pm to 5:00 am due to the rainy season.

Vehicular movement along the Mechi highway has come to a complete halt after the road at Rajduwali of Ilam municipality-9 turned muddy due to incessant rain. However, an alternative route is in operation in the area.

Various sections of the Araniko Highway have been completely obstructed due to landslides and landslides at Jirokilo, Kodari and Liping areas of Bhotekoshi rural municipality in Sindhupalchowk.

DOLAKHA: Vehicular movement along the Lamasanghu-Ramechhap road section has come to a halt after the Samakoshi rivulet erodes the road at Kirnetar of Tamakoshi rural municipality-5 in Dolakha district. However, an alternative route has been brought into operation via the premises of Khimti Rural Electric Cooperative, police said.

Similarly, Pasang Lhamu road section of Rasuwa, Nagma-Gamgadhi road section of Mugu, Kaligandaki corridor at Belbagar of Jaimini municipality-8 in Baglung, Bheri corridor at Rijegar Khola in Rukum (west) and Beni-Jomsom road section at Kaiku Khola of Thasang rural municipality-4 in Mustang district have been completely obstructed due to landslides.

MYAGDI: Vehicular movement along the Beni-Jomsom road section has come to a grinding halt after roads washed away at Baiseri, Raghuganga rural municipality-2 and Annapurna rural municipality-7, Bhirkate area.

Vehicular movement has been disrupted after a dry landslide occurred at Madan Bhandari road section in Ruruchetra rural municipality-4 of Gulmi district.

Police have urged the general public to take information about the road condition from the concerned bodies before traveling, as there is still a risk of landslide, flood and road erosion during the rainy season.
