Kathmandu. The term of the Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank is now only 3 years.
This provision was made during the clause-wise discussion on the bill designed to amend the Nepal Rastra Bank Act, 2058 BS in today’s meeting of the Finance Committee.
The meeting will allow the government to reappoint the governor for 2 years if it deems appropriate.
The government can reappoint the governor, deputy governor and director who have completed their term for two years if it deems appropriate on the basis of performance evaluation.
