Kathmandu. Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle said that the government was not thinking about demonetization.

He said this in his address to a dialogue on ‘citizen, policy and leadership’ organized by the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) at the party headquarters Banasthali.

He clarified the government’s stand when the participants of the discussion asked why demonetisation should not be done. “I have heard interesting questions about demonetisation. But right now, we don’t think it’s appropriate. We have not thought about demonetisation,” he said.

He said that the success of demonetisation has not been good in other countries where this practice has been practiced.
