Kathmandu. As many as 403 tourists have gone missing due to flooding in Bhotekoshi river in Rasuwa district.

According to the information provided by the Nepal Tourism Board, 62 Nepalis and 341 foreign tourists have gone missing in the flooded Bhotekoshi River this morning.

Officiating Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) Hikmat Singh Ayer said 403 tourists who had visited Gosainkunda and Kailash Mansarovar through various companies have gone out of contact.

Of them, 203 are males and 200 females. Most of the missing tourists are Indian tourists. So far, 133 people have died from India, 47 from the US, 34 from Australia, 33 from the UK, 24 from Canada, 19 from Malaysia, seven from Ukraine, six each from Singapore and South Africa, five each from New Zealand and Japan.

Apart from this, citizens of more than 25 countries including Germany, France, Russia, Spain, Ireland and the Netherlands have been out of contact due to floods, according to Nepal Tourism Board.

The floods have badly damaged settlements, police posts and customs offices in Timure and Syaphrubesi areas. The floods have also damaged the roads and bridges linking Rasuwagadhi border point.
