{{TAG_OPEN_span_8} Kathmandu. A team led by CPN-UML General Secretary Shankar Pokhrel has left for Nuwakot to inspect the damage caused by the floods in the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli rivers.
The team includes former deputy general secretary Bishnu Rimal, secretary Rajan Bhattarai, chief of health department Krishna Gopal Shrestha, publicity department chief Niraj Acharya and central member Parbat Gurung.
Similarly, GEFONT President Binod Shrestha, Ex-Servicemen/Police Organization Chairman Brigadier General Binod Pandey (AP), Morcha Organization Chief Bishal Bhattarai, Youth and Sports Department Chief Amit Lama and Press Chautari Nepal’s President Ganesh Pandey are also in the inspection team.
According to Acharya, the team will monitor the flood-affected areas, interact with the locals and collect information about rescue and relief distribution.
Similarly, the Pokharel-led team will also hold discussions with the local administration about rescue, relief and rehabilitation, Acharya said. According to him, party cadres will also be mobilized to be involved in relief and rescue.
