KATHMANDU: 36 of those injured in the Rasuwa floods and rescued to Kathmandu are undergoing treatment at Tribhuvan Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj.

Hospital spokesperson Dr Gopal Sedhai said that out of the 37 injured who were brought to the hospital, one died and the remaining 36 are undergoing treatment. According to him, the deceased has been identified as 25-year-old Kushal Magar. Six of the injured are being treated in the ICU, said Dr Sedhai.

Those injured are Tej Bahadur Tamang, Pema Tamang, Pabitra Karki, Rajendra Bhatta, Min Bahadur Shrestha, Girilal Budhathoki, Sujan Basnet, Rupak Roka, Sushant Shrestha, Bal Bahadur Gharti, Ashok Shrestha, Karma Yonjan Nagarkoti, Ram Prasad Tharu, Suruchi Rana Magar, Rita Docho and Nim Dorje Sherpa.

Likewise, Ritu Dangol, Smriti Ojha, Ishara Tamang, Maheshwor Shah, Sushila Blon, Sijal Thapa Chhetri, Sitar Tamang, Rajan Khatri, Raman Lal Shrestha, Ramesh Adhikari, Nima Dorje Tamang, Sangita Tamang, Pasang Chhomeu Ghale, Papu Patel, Samjhana Neupane, Samay Tamang, Chhimlal Tamang, Chisang Tamang and Roshan Tamang and Indian national Navalesh Sharma are undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Along with the treatment of the injured who were rescued from the flood-affected areas and brought to Kathmandu, the search for their relatives and their condition is being inquired about. The relatives of the injured are reaching the hospital to get information about the condition of their family members.

Nepal Police has set up a citizen help desk at the hospital to provide necessary information to the relatives of those injured or incommunicado in the floods. According to the police, people are coming to the help desk to get information about the condition of the injured and to note down the details of the relatives who are out of contact.

Meanwhile, rescue and search operations have been intensified in the flood-affected areas while the injured are being brought to Kathmandu for treatment, police said. According to the police, work is underway to identify the people rescued from the flood-affected areas and collect details about their condition. Arrangements have been made for the relatives of the rescued people and those brought to Kathmandu for treatment through the citizen help desk set up at the concerned hospital.

The families affected by the floods are reaching out to the hospital and help desk to get information about the condition of their relatives. The police have urged the people to rely only on the information received from the official authorities and do not follow unconfirmed information and rumors during the disaster.
