Dr. Harihardev Pant Financial Journalism Award Editor Gyawali

Kathmandu. The ‘Dr. Harihardev Pant Economic Journalism Award’, instituted in memory of Dr. Harihardev Panta, the father of microfinance in Nepal, will be presented to Ashish Gyawali, editor of investmentnews.com.

The award was established by the Pant Foundation. On the occasion of the 11th anniversary of Pant’s death anniversary on Sunday, Gyawali will be presented to Gyawali.

The first promoter of microfinance, Dr. Harihardev Pant, who was dedicated to economic development and poverty reduction in the country for most of his life. The award was established in the memory of Harihardev Pant. The Foundation has been presenting the Economic Journalism Award to one of the best financial journalists or associations and organizations every year.

Earlier, the award was presented to Society of Economic Journalists of Nepal (SEJON) former president Gokarna Awasthi and members Bishno Belbase, Alija Upreti, Mamata Thapa, Bijaya Raj Khanal, Yagya Banjade, Krishna Rijal and Daab Humagain.

According to the Foundation, various newspapers, radio, television, online news and journalists have been honoured for their significant contribution to the country’s overall development as well as economic development through journalism.

The prize carries a purse of Rs 1 lakh. The Foundation has been providing the Economic Journalism Award since 2074 BS.
