KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress President Gagan Thapa has appealed to all to help in the rescue, relief and rehabilitation of the people affected by the floods in Rasuwa.

Issuing a video message through social media on Thursday, Thapa urged those who can help to the government not to speak harsh words during the time of disaster.

“Let’s get involved in helping if we can. Even if we can’t help, at least let no one speak harsh words,” he said.

Thapa, who had inspected the flood-ravaged areas of Dhading and Nuwakot a few days ago, said that the real situation of the disaster could be known only after reaching the field.

He said that a large number of houses have been destroyed by the floods and affected the families and citizens.

Stressing that all sides should work together in the time of disaster, Thapa praised the rescue and relief works carried out by the local level and the state government.

According to him, a detailed report on the works to be carried out by the government and party in the coming phase would be prepared and made public by incorporating the situation seen by the Nepali Congress team during the on-site inspection and the complaints of the affected people.

“Based on what we have seen in the field on behalf of the party, the government will prepare a detailed report and make public the issues including what we should do in the next phase,” Thapa said.
