Kathmandu. The private sector is continuing to mobilize funds for the relief, rescue and rehabilitation of the people affected by the devastating floods in the Rasuwa-Bhotekoshi region. Banks, insurance companies and digital payment service providers have provided millions of rupees through the Prime Minister’s Natural Disaster Relief Fund.

Laxmi Sunrise Bank has donated Rs 3.2 TAG_OPEN_p_30 4 crore to this period. The bank has deposited the amount in the Prime Minister’s Natural Disaster Relief Fund to contribute to the relief and rehabilitation of the communities affected by the disaster.

Himalayan Life Insurance has contributed Rs 51 lakh and Himalayan Everest Insurance has contributed Rs 25 lakh. These insurance companies have expressed confidence that they will provide relief to the affected citizens in the difficult times of disaster.TAG_OPEN_p_29

PhonePe, a digital payment service provider, has also donated Rs 50 lakh. The company said that the amount was provided to help in the relief and reconstruction of the communities affected by the disaster.TAG_OPEN_p_28

A total of more than Rs 4.5 crore has been made available from these four organizations for disaster management and relief of the affected communities. At present, various private sector institutions, banks and financial institutions are continuing to contribute to the relief fund.
