Myagdi. A suspension bridge has been constructed to connect Kausibot of Dhawalagiri Rural Municipality-7 and Bansbot of Ward No. 4 of Myagdi.

The Suspension Bridge Division Kathmandu of the federal government has constructed a 303-metre-long suspension bridge over the Myagdi River. Dhawalagiri Rural Municipality Chairman Prem Prasad Pun informed that the people of Hilapokhari, Bansbot, Khorbang, Solwang, Khara, Khamla, Chhahari, Khiwang, Shivang, Takam and Kafaldada have benefited from the bridge.

According to him, it has become easier to market the bananas produced by the farmers of Bamboobot. A contract agreement for the construction of the bridge was signed between Ramkrishna-Somras JV and Division for Rs 1,64,15,254 in July 2082. The bridge has been opened for traffic after the construction of the bridge was completed this month.

The contract period was for 18 months. Prabin Sapkota, a representative of the construction company, said that the bridge was completed within the stipulated time. Raj Kumar Koirala of Dhawalagiri Rural Municipality-7 said that the bridge is expected to shorten the travel time for the movement and develop it as a tourist spot. He said that the journey time of one hour has been reduced to five minutes.

Earlier, two suspension bridges of more than 300 meters were constructed in Dhawalagiri Rural Municipality last year. A suspension bridge of 365 meters was constructed at Marang Khola connecting Ghairibot and Khauribang of Dhawalagiri Rural Municipality-6 and 366 meters long over Darkhola connecting Ward No. 3 Faliya Gaun and Darkhola. With this, the number of suspension bridges of more than 300 meters in Myagdi has reached seven.

A 365.80-metre long bridge has been constructed at Begkhola of Raghuganga Rural Municipality-1, 350 metres at Begkhola of Malika Rural Municipality-7 and Rikh of Dhawalagiri Rural Municipality-6, 388 metres at Ratnechaur of Beni Municipality-1 and Kudu of Baglung Municipality-4 and a 344-metre long bridge linking Annapurna Rural Municipality-5 to Sikh and Kindu.
