Nepal Telecom donates Rs 100 million to Prime Minister Natural Disaster Relief Fund

Kathmandu. Nepal Telecom has contributed Rs 100 million to the Prime Minister Natural Disaster Relief Fund for the relief, rescue and rehabilitation of the people affected by the devastating floods in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa.

TAG_OPEN_div_14 The cheque was handed over to Minister for Information and Communications Dr. Bikram Timilsina and Secretary and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the company, Rajendra Kumar Poudel. The cheque was handed over to Dr. Swarnim Wagle.

Nepal Telecom’s Managing Director Sangita Pahadi (Aryal) handed over the cheque of the amount to Finance Minister Wagle. NTC’s Chief Operating Officer Prem Prasad Silwal, Chief Financial Officer Dwarika Prasad Poudel and Chief Commercial Officer Gopal Singh KC were also present on the occasion.TAG_OPEN_div_12

Earlier, a cheque of Rs 2 crore 2 lakh 26 thousand 66 was also handed over to the Finance Minister on behalf of the employees of the company. Nepal Telecom has provided free call, data and SMS facility worth Rs 60 million to the service recipients of the areas affected by the Bhotekoshi floods.

Issuing a press release today, the company’s spokesperson Dr. Kamal Lamichhane stated that Nepal Telecom has been providing financial and other support to the country and citizens during the time of disasters including flood, landslide, earthquake and COVID-19 pandemic since the past. The company is committed to maintain the continuity of communication service during the disaster and to provide all possible support in relief, rescue and rehabilitation works.TAG_OPEN_div_8
