Kathmandu. The government has approved the visit of Prime Minister Balendra Shah to the United States to attend the United Nations General Assembly.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Thursday took the decision in this regard, said government spokesperson and Minister for Education Sasmit Pokharel.

“The Cabinet has approved the visit of a Nepali delegation to the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) led by Prime Minister Balendra Shah to participate in the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) from September 23 to 23.

KATHMANDU — The government has promoted two joint secretaries to the post of special class (secretary).

Joint Secretary Binod Bahadur Kunwar has been promoted to the post of Secretary and posted as the Chief Secretary of Lumbini Province. Similarly, Joint Secretary Uttar Kumar Khatri has been promoted to the post of Secretary and given the responsibility of Chief Secretary of Sudurpaschim Province.

The government has also decided to form a Nepali talk team to participate in the meeting of Nepal-India Inter-Governmental Sub-Committee (IGSC) to be held in New Delhi, India.

The meeting also gave approval in principle to formulate a bill related to the control of unfair transaction i.e. meter interest crime.

The meeting also approved the list of poor households in five different districts. “The government has approved the list of 17,438 poor households in 27 local levels of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Saptari and Dang.

The government has appointed vacant officials in the Teachers Service Commission. Dr. Hari Prasad Lamsal of Bhaktapur has been appointed as the chairman of the commission.

Ram Sharan Sapkota (Makawanpur) and Bishnu Ghimire (Rimal) of Kathmandu have been appointed as female members.
