Kathmandu. An additional team of specialist doctors is going to Nuwakot today to make maternal and child health services more effective in the areas affected by the Bhotekoshi floods.
A team comprising specialist doctors from Paropakar Maternity and Women’s Hospital and Kanti Children’s Hospital is to be sent to Nuwakot as per the decision of the Ministry of Health and Food and Hygiene to continue the health service in the flood-affected areas and provide additional services as per the need.
According to the Ministry, another team is to be sent to the affected areas as health teams have already been mobilized to provide services.
The team includes Dr. Bina Prajapati, senior gynecologist and obstetrician of Kanti Children’s Hospital. Dr. Bina Prajapati, senior gynecologist and obstetrician of Paropakar Obstetrics and Gynaecology Hospital. Dr. Hari Kumar Shrestha and Dr. Shreeram Khadka and Gynecologist and Obstetrician of the same hospital. Dhan Bahadur.
The team will reach the flood-affected areas of Nuwakot and provide specialist services related to maternal and newborn, children and reproductive health as per the need. The team will also be sent with necessary medicines and medical supplies.
The Ministry has been mobilizing additional specialist human resources, medicines and medical appliances in view of possible disruption in health services in the flood and landslide affected areas.
