Teej festival: More than Rs 2.5 billion worth of saris, makeup, bangles and other items in a month

Kathmandu. A large amount of money has come out of Nepal in the import of items like saris, makeup, bangles and other items used and worn by women in view of the Teej festival. According to the data of the Department of Customs, in the month of July of the current fiscal year, the import of such items alone amounted to Rs 2.54 billion.

Textile products including sarees worth Rs 1,10,49,69,000 were imported during this period. The government collected revenue of Rs 620.763 crore from these imports.

Similarly, Rs TAG_OPEN_div_16 9,28,65,000 has been collected in the import of bangles and pots. The government has collected Rs 1,79,68,000 in revenue from this.

Similarly, the import of make-up and other cosmetics items alone amounted to Rs 1.22 billion.TAG_OPEN_div_14

The imported products include lip makeup, eye makeup, nail polish, powder, face cream, body lotion, shampoo, hair oil, hair dye and hair conditioner, among others.TAG_OPEN_div_12

In this way, more than TAG_OPEN_div_10 Rs 2.5 billion has been imported in the import of clothes, makeup, and beauty items used by women targeting the Teej festival.
