Kathmandu. The Troubled Cooperative Management Committee has refunded the money of 135 small savers of five troubled cooperatives.
According to the committee, 57 people of Shivashikhar Cooperative, 52 of Kantipur Cooperative, 8 of Oriental Cooperative, 9 of Tulsi Multiple Cooperatives and 9 of Ideal Yamuna Cooperatives have been refunded.
The committee has stated that the amount received from the loan recovery and property management from the problematic cooperatives has been returned to the concerned savers.
The committee said that in the first phase, the money was returned by giving priority to the savers who had saved a small amount. In the coming days, preparations have been made to gradually return the amount by classifying the savers on the basis of the savings amount.
According to the committee, the task of recovering the loans from the problematic cooperatives and returning the savings to the depositors of the cooperatives from the amount received through asset management is being carried out continuously as per the prevailing law.
