NC’s 15th general convention to be held at historic place

Kathmandu. The 15th general convention of the Nepali Congress is being held at the place where the founder of the Nepali Congress and the first people-elected Prime Minister, BP Koirala, addressed the first public address after returning home from exile.
TAG_OPEN_div_36 The 15th general convention of the Nepali Congress will be inaugurated on October 1 at 2 pm at Tundikhel Khula Manch. At the same Tundikhel, another founding leader of the Congress, Ganesh Man Singh, announced the success of the people’s movement of 1990 to end autocratic rule. The general convention will be inaugurated by President Gagan Kumar Thapa and the inaugural session will be addressed by the top leaders of the Nepali Congress as well as the top leaders of the major political parties of the country.
At a press conference organized here today to give information about the preparations for the general convention, Devraj Chalise said, “This is also a historic general convention because 44,000 youths of the new generation have come into responsibility through the process of the general convention and more than seven thousand representatives selected by them are participating.” He said that this general convention is going to be held after the second special general convention of the Nepali Congress held on January 12 to January 17.TAG_OPEN_div_34
Youths below thirty-five years of age, democracy fighters, workers and professional groups and Nepalis living abroad will get an opportunity to represent the Nepali Congress in the Central Committee for the first time.TAG_OPEN_div_32
‘Energetic Congress, New Resolution’ is the main mantra of this convention. “In the discussion session, there will be an in-depth discussion on the new resolutions and a blueprint for its implementation will be prepared,” said Chalise, “This convention will elect the leadership on who can implement these resolutions.” All the efforts of this convention will be focused on formulating rules and procedures in the Congress. ”
Stating that the Nepali Congress has created a lot of history in Nepali politics and now it wants to create a new history, he said the NC would now connect BP Koirala with the future from history and BP ideology would be made the ideological basis for the country’s prosperity. } The registration process for the general convention delegates has started at the party’s central office in Sanepa from today. According to the election committee, the general convention delegates have to pay Rs 3,500 for the registration of their participation. Similarly, the Housing Management Committee has appointed one coordinator each from each constituency, district and province to coordinate the accommodation for the convention delegates of the respective geography.
According to the Housing Management Committee, arrangements have been made for the participants to get information related to the accommodation through WhatsApp, AI number and SMS. The closed session will be held on October 19 and 20 after the inauguration program on Sunday. The president, vice-president, general secretary, and treasurer are scheduled to submit separate reports in the closed session.TAG_OPEN_div_24
The report will be discussed in three different halls by forming groups on the basis of geography. Participants will be able to listen to and view the report from the digital boards in each hall, said Spokesperson Chalise. The Election Committee has fixed the time for filing nominations from 2 pm to 6 pm on October 2. Nominations will be made at the National Assembly Hall. The election committee has said that the election schedule can be modified as per the need.

In the case of big buses, parking arrangements have been made in one lane from Maitighar to Bhadrakali section. He said that a media center will be set up at Khula Manch, the venue of the general convention, to update the information about the 15th general convention of the Congress and media briefings will be held.
