Kathmandu. The meeting of the Central Working Committee of the Nepali Congress (NC) has begun under the 15th General Convention. The meeting started after the leaders came to the Khula Manch after tea and snacks, said NC Spokesperson Devraj Chalise.
According to Spokesperson Chalise, the closed session will be started only after the central working committee endorses the report to be presented in the closed session of the party’s 15th general convention.
He said, “The party has given responsibility to various committees. According to that responsibility, they present the proposal, the meeting approves the agenda according to the right and on that basis the closed session is held.” ‘
According to him, President Gagan Kumar Thapa’s political report, general secretary’s statute amendment and treasurer’s financial report will be presented in the closed session.
The closed session will discuss the party’s political and current affairs. After the closed session, the election process for the selection of a new central working committee, which is the main task of the general convention, will begin.
The General Convention Election Committee has scheduled the publication of the final voter list of the delegates at 5 pm. After the publication of the voters’ list, the process of opposing the claims and scrutiny will proceed. The final voters’ list will be published after necessary investigation on the claims received.
The Election Committee has made necessary preparations to include the general convention delegates in the election.
Tuesday nomination
According to the election schedule, the process of filing candidacy will begin on Tuesday. For the post of president, vice-president, general secretary, joint general secretary and central member of the party, candidacy will be filed.
With the nomination, the competition for the new leadership of the Congress is expected to become more clear. The party president, office-bearers and aspiring leaders of the central committee have already intensified their internal discussions and meetings.
