KATHMANDU — Prime Minister Walendra Shah has said that the disaster management since August 10 has been going on continuously in coordination with the federal, provincial and local governments.
Addressing the 21st meeting of the National Council for Disaster Risk Reduction and Management held at Singha Durbar-based Disaster Risk Reduction and Management today, he said the government was continuously working in disaster management without making any compromises.
Chief Ministers of Gandaki, Bagmati, Madhes and Koshi provinces were present in the meeting.
Targeting the chief ministers, the Prime Minister said, “We are completing the disaster management works at the earliest by mobilizing available resources and human resources. ”
He said that the government was working to carry out a study of the damage caused by floods and landslides in Bhotekoshi-Trishuli, Gandaki and other areas.
Prime Minister Shah also said that the government is going to further strengthen the early warning system for disaster risk reduction. He also said that the government is doing the necessary work to reduce the risk of avalanches.
On the occasion, the Prime Minister expressed gratitude to all including, employees, security personnel, volunteers, representatives of political parties and others who have been relentlessly putting their lives at risk in the management of this disaster.
