Annapurna Circuit Trekking Route Opened, Snow Cleared at Thorangla Pass

Kathmandu. The Thorangla Pass trekking route linking Manang-Mustang under the Annapurna Circuit has been opened for trekking after clearing the snow.

A 20-member team with the initiative of Muktinath Hotel Association on Monday removed the snow at the Thorangla Pass area and the trekking route has come into operation.

Foreign tourists reach Muktinath of Mustang by crossing the Thorangla Pass from Manang via Besisahar of Lamjung. Suraj Gurung, president of the Muktinath Hotel Association, said that the Thorangla Pass trekking route connecting Manang and Mustang has been made easier for trekking by clearing the thick snow.

The movement of tourists was also stopped after the Thorangla Pass trekking route was completely blocked due to heavy snowfall from September 24 to 11. According to the association, the trekking has become easy again after the snow has been removed.

From October to November, Thorangla Pass is considered a suitable destination for adventurous trekking. The Annapurna Circuit Trekking Route, which connects Manang and Mustang, has tourist activities only for about five months in a year.

The Thorangla Pass section of the Annapurna Circuit Trekking Route, established as a world-famous trekking route, attracts foreign tourists for adventurous trekking. According to the Muktinath Hotel Association, trekkers will no longer face any problem in reaching Mustang from Manang via Thorangla Pass.
