Humla. Internet and telephone services have been affected in Humla and Mugu due to a problem in the ‘link device’ of the tower at Rugha of Mugu and Nathpu of Soru Rural Municipality.

Nepal Telecom has said that the technical problem seen in the 4G tower since last week cannot be resolved immediately. According to Umesh Chaudhary, chief of Nepal Telecom, Mugu, the service was disrupted due to a problem in the ‘link device’ connected to the tower. He said that the repair can be done only after Dashain as the employees have gone home during the Dashain holidays.

Internet and telephone services have been disrupted in most settlements of Soru rural municipality in Mugu and Adanchuli, Tanjakot, Sarkegad and Changkheli rural municipalities of Humla.

Singh Bohara, a ward member of Adanchuli Rural Municipality-4, said that the telecom employees have been repeatedly called and requested to resolve the problem. He said that due to the disruption of communication service, it is difficult to contact the relatives going home during Dashain and send money.

Due to the geographical remoteness, the citizens of these areas have been facing more problems due to the closure of telecom services.
