Now the citizenship copy of other districts can be obtained from the Kathmandu Valley, from where can the citizens of which state get the service?

{{TAG_OPEN_div_24}Kathmandu. Now, citizens who have obtained Nepali citizenship from other districts can also get a copy of their citizenship from the District Administration Office of Kathmandu Valley.

Issuing a notice, the District Administration Office, Kathmandu said that a copy of the citizenship can be obtained from any District Administration Office as per point number 21 of the 100-point governance reform agenda of the Government of Nepal and the Nepal Citizenship (Fifth Amendment) Regulations, 2083.TAG_OPEN_div_22

Citizens who have been destroyed by fire, water-soaked, torn, obsolete, lost, required in a new format or need to get a copy of citizenship due to other reasons will get this facility. According to the circular issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs on November 22, three district administration offices in the Kathmandu Valley have made arrangements for the delivery of services at the provincial level.

People who have obtained citizenship from the districts of Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces can avail the service from the District Administration Office, Kathmandu. Similarly, citizens of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces can avail the service from the District Administration Office, Lalitpur. People who have obtained citizenship from the districts of Koshi and Madhes province can avail the service from the District Administration Office, Bhaktapur.

According to the office, before issuing a copy of citizenship, the applicant’s biological details will be verified with the details in the National Identity Management Information System and the Centralized Citizenship Information Management System. If the details in the records match correctly, a copy will be issued.TAG_OPEN_div_16

However, the applicant who does not have the details mentioned in the records, who wants to get a copy by correcting the name, surname, date of birth or other details mentioned in the previous citizenship and who seems suspicious at first sight, should contact the concerned district where the citizenship has been obtained.

The notice issued by the Chief District Officer of the District Administration Office, Kathmandu, Ishwar Raj Poudel, is expected to make it easier for the citizens of other districts living in the Kathmandu Valley to obtain a copy of the citizenship certificate.TAG_OPEN_div_12
