Kathmandu. US President Donald Trump has said that even though the Democrats took control of the US House of Representatives in the mid-term elections, he is ready to work with them.

In an interview with The New York Times, Trump said he was “very ready” to accept the results of the election and that he would work with the Democrats to do something.

President Trump tried to recuse himself from the election after early predictions of the midterm elections showing that Democrats would win a majority in the House of Representatives and a significant victory in the Senate.

He said on his social media Truth Social that he was not on the ballot and claimed that if he had been the candidate, the Republicans would have won by a huge margin. However, during the midterm election campaign, he urged voters to vote as if they thought they were on the ballot.

According to US media, Democrats are expected to win enough seats to regain control of the House of Representatives by early next year. This will make it difficult to advance President Trump’s legislative agenda. Also, in the last two years of his term, Democrats will be able to investigate the White House and Trump’s business activities.

If Democrats retain control of the House of Representatives, Minority Leader Hakim Jeffries is likely to become speaker. If elected, he will become the first African American speaker of the House of Representatives in U.S. history.

CNN predicts that Democrats will win a majority in the lower chamber. NBC News also predicts that Democrats could win at least 244 seats and maintain a majority in the House of Representatives. This is expected to bring significant changes to the balance of power in Washington and increase parliamentary oversight of the Trump administration.

In South Carolina, Annie Andrews defeated Darlene, the sister of Trump’s closest ally, the late Lindsey Graham.

After his victory, Andrews said he would not bow down to American politics, which is rife with partisan divisions, personal accusations and the influence of billionaires and powerful interest groups. He also pledged to forge his own political path.

If Democrats retain control of the House of Representatives, they will be able to use parliamentary authority to investigate President Trump’s administration, issue subpoenas and demand necessary documents and details. This is expected to increase surveillance and political pressure on the administration for the remaining two years of his term.
