Upgradation of road connecting three religious places in Beni begins

Myagdi. The road connecting galeshwor, Pulashram (Pachhai) and Jagannath in Beni municipality of the district has been upgraded.

Galeshwar is the gateway to Muktinath, a common pilgrimage site for Hindus and Buddhists, while Ravana, the character of the Hindu scripture Ramayana, was born later. Jagannath has a shikhar-style temple built by king Dilip Bam Malla of the then mountain kingdom.

According to Beni municipality-9 ward chair Chakra KC, the road connecting Galeshwor to Beni Bazaar via Pulashram Jagannath is being upgraded through the Gandaki state government to bring pilgrims going to Mustang via Myagdi to Galeshwor, Pachhai and Jagannath.

“There is a plan to upgrade the Beni-Jomsom-Korala section at Galeshwor, improve the grade and rotation, construct drains, walls and slope,” he said. We have taken initiatives with the state government to manage the budget for upgrading the remaining sections. ’

According to the Infrastructure Development Office, BBPL BS DS Dhaulagiri has been selected for the construction of the project, which has been allocated rs 35.99 million by the Gandaki state government. Chief of infrastructure development office, Bishnu Poudel, said that beni-9 would be upgraded with slope and gravel through the project. According to him, 300 meters of slope and 1,700 meters of gravel will be upgraded.

The contractor company, which signed the agreement in June last year, has started widening the road by mobilizing dozers in the Kaulegouda-Kosepani area. With the completion of this road, the citizens of Beni-9, 10, Raghuganga Rural Municipality-5, 6 and 8 will be directly benefited.

Earlier, beni municipality had upgraded about two kilometers of road in Galeshwor-Kaulegaunda area. Gandaki State Assembly member Bimala Gauchan, who passed away in October last year, had proposed to the state government to invite a multi-year contract for the road connecting galeshwor, Pulashram and Jagannath.

The beni-Pakhapani road has been sloped from Neptechaur to Kaulegauda and From Kirakhor to Tinmane. Poudel, chief of the Infrastructure Development Office, informed that the four-km road connecting Kirakhor of Beni-9 to Toripani via Neptechaur under the Beni-Pakhapani road is being upgraded with the budget of Rs 200 million that was ensured by the state government last year.

When Gandaki State Assembly member Resham Bahadur Jugjali, elected from Myagdi, was the Minister for Physical Infrastructure Development and Transport Management, the province government had decided to allocate Rs 40 million for upgrading the Benipakhapani road.

Beni Municipality, which has upgraded the road from Beni to Kirakhor, has started a road upgradation project connecting Jin of Raghuganga via Githini Patlekhet from the ward office of Ward No. 9 under the Beni-Pakhapani road.
