30,000 tourists visit Ghodepani-Punhill in one year

Myagdi. More than 30,000 tourists have visited Ghodepani-Punhill area of Annapurna Rural Municipality-6 in the district in a year.

A total of 30,885 tourists visited Pokhara-Nayapul of Kaski, Ghorepani via Ghandrak and Myagdi district headquarters Beni-Tatopani, Ghar, Sikh to Ghorepani and Nagi in the fiscal year 2081/82 BS, according to Tourist Police Post Ghodepani.

Located at an altitude of 3,210 meters above sea level, vehicles and pedestrians pass through Ghodepani to observe the sunrise and panoramic glaciers from Punhill.

According to Inspector Sagar Poudel of the District Police Office, of the 23,868 tourists who visited Ghodepani, 12,396 are men and 11,472 are women. Of the 6,997 people who left after visiting Ghodepani and Punhill, 3,621 were men and 3,376 women.

Ghodepani and Punhill had the highest number of tourists at 4,213 in October, while the lowest was 449 in June. The Tourist Police Post Ghodepani has been keeping records with details of tourists entering and leaving Ghodepani.

Chairperson of Ghodepani Hotel Management Committee, Mina Pun, said that domestic tourists visit Ghodepani along with foreign tourists. The number of domestic tourists has decreased due to the breakdown of the road network,” he said.

The road from Pokharebagar to Ghar-Khiwang-Sikh-Chitre road at Annapurna-5, Ghoptekharka is still not easy.
