Kathmandu. Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel has said the government was working towards creating an environment for investment.

Inaugurating the 47th annual general meeting of trekking agency Association of Nepal (TAAN) here on Sunday, Deputy Prime Minister Poudel said, “The government is working towards boosting the confidence of the private sector and creating an environment for investment in the country.”

Deputy Prime Minister Poudel said the government was committed to the promotion of tourism and development of the national economy. Stating that all indicators of the economy were negative when he took over the government, he said, “Now there has been a positive change in all the indicators of the economy. Yesterday, when we took over the government, the indicators of the economy were negative. ’

Similarly, Deputy Prime Minister Poudel clarified that the government was not in a position to waive VAT. He said, “It is difficult to bear the ordinary expenses from the revenue. Now bring business promotion plan programs instead of VAT exemption. The government is ready to facilitate. ’

Stating that the country was moving ahead on the path of stability by ensuring political stability, he said, “The present government is strong and stable. This government will move forward till the 2084 elections and it will give policy stability. We have paid special attention to the implementation of the policies and programs and budget brought by the government. ’

On the occasion, TAAN Chair Sagar Pandey said the government should focus on policy reforms and infrastructure development for the development of the tourism sector. “The government needs to focus on policy reforms and infrastructure development to create a conducive environment for businessmen,” he said. ’
