Darchula. Beas Rural Municipality of Darchula is the most popular place due to Kalapani, Lipulek and Limpiyadhura regions. Chhangru and Tinkar villages fall within ward no. 1 of the rural municipality. But there is no walkway or communication facility to reach Chhangru and Tinkar under Nepal’s control.

Even now, the people of the two villages reach the village through Indian roads. Life here has become difficult due to the obstruction of the pedestrian road and lack of communication services.

It is 10 kilometers from Chhangru to Tinkar village. The road from Chhangru to Tinkar village has been blocked. The floods on August 28 cut off the contact of Chhangru and Tinkar. The road from Chhangru to Tinkar village has been washed away by the flood. There is concern about how the migration of Tinkar residents will return when khalanga falls in November.

Binod Singh Budhathoki, ward secretary of ward no. 1, said it was difficult to transport food grains to the village as the road was washed away by the flood. Now the locals are eating the old stock of food grains. There will be a shortage of food in the village if the condition of such roads continues.

Secretary Budhathoki said, “There is no situation to get budget for the road immediately from any area, if the road is not constructed, not only the citizens but also the security personnel will have difficulty in commuting.

According to local believer Tinkari, it has been more than three weeks since there was no communication in Tinkar village. The village is without network. Locals are now forced to use a set of security personnel to inform their relatives. It takes three hours of one-way walk to reach Chhangru village from Tinkar. Birendra Tinkari, a local, said that although Nepal Telecom’s Namaste phone works in Chhangru, the residents of Tinkar have been deprived of communication.

There are 70 families living in Tinkar of Beas-1. The people had shifted to Kuncha in May last year. The BoP of the Armed Police Force and the Nepal Police are stationed in Chhialek than Tinkar. Security personnel have also not been able to communicate with their relatives due to the disruption of telecom services.

Last year, the federal government constructed and repaired a 20-km road from Dumling to Tobacco, Malpa, Ghatibagad, Bayali, Dopakhe, Pola, Girkisse, Budi Apikhola and Kuntisau. Even now, the walkway is not good for the citizens to walk.

Binod Singh Kunwar, vice-chair of the rural municipality, said that necessary budget should be made immediately on the Tinkar road, locals and security personnel should be provided nepal’s food and the way through their land. “Otherwise, helicopters should be arranged for the citizens here,” he said, adding, “The citizens are facing problems as they are unable to meet the basic needs of the citizens. ’

Tourism campaigner Himalaya Bhatta Nepal said it was imperative to expedite development works up to Chhangru Tinkar to make the claim that the land from Om Parbat to Limpiyadhura belongs to us practical. According to him, our presence in those areas will be proved only if the development works speed up.

Ward chair Ashok Singh Bohara said that security personnel, people’s representatives and locals have constructed three wooden bridges from Chhangru to Tinkar village of the rural municipality. According to Bohara, the kathe bridge that was washed away in Nampa khola and Tinkar rivulet has now been installed.

He also said that the road has been opened in some places so that people can walk, but there is still no way to walk with livestock. He said that a huge amount of money is needed for the construction of the road, two years ago, the rural municipality had constructed the road on foot by inviting a contract, but the residents of Tinkar are facing problems after the entire flood cut it. ’
