Gandaki. Pokhara—Pokhara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) has urged the government to correct the notice issued by the District Land Revenue Office, Kaski on Wednesday.

A delegation led by Association President Gokarna Karki submitted a memorandum to Acting Chief of Land Revenue Office, Kaski Shovakhar Poudel today, urging him to this effect. The Land Revenue Office, Kaski had issued a public notice for the landowners to appear with 11 different types of documents for the re-registration of their land.

According to the notice, the local level where the land is owned, the local level landowner with a permanent address should submit a notice of ownership of the land with three generations of open photos, on-site survey certificate, citizenship certificate, original certificate with the landowner, approved documents (land purchase, sale or box letter, etc.).

Similarly, the notice states that the government should submit a memorandum of understanding (MoU) of the land freezing authority, receipt of land revenue in the current fiscal year, plus register, field book and map, 35-day public notice and agreement letter of Guthi Sansthan in case of Guthi land.

Stating that the information has created fear among the general public and it is impractical to ask for the documents and evidence, the memorandum signed by the Association President Karki has demanded that the record be maintained on the basis of minimum authentic evidence so that the information cannot be misused by the wrong persons.

The delegation also handed over the memorandum to Chief District Officer of Kaski, Rudra Devi Sharma, requesting for facilitation, said General Secretary Shova Gautam. It was informed that it was not possible to prepare the land ownership certificates of nearly three lakh service seekers immediately as the District Land Revenue Office was in a state of burn.

Acting Mayor Poudel said that the notice has been issued as per the previous provision and there is no need to worry about the original copy of the land ownership certificate and it does not have to come to the office within 35 days.

Issuing another notice today, the office said that all types of services could not be provided until further notice as the physical infrastructure of the Land Revenue Office in Kaski was in a state of burnt and there was no condition to provide immediate service.
