Nepal Airlines Corporation repays Rs 530 million loan

Kathmandu. Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has repaid more than Rs 530 million as loan till mid-October. The corporation has paid a total of Rs 539 lakh 55 thousand 281 for the instalment of two narrow-body aircraft and partial amount of two wide-body aircraft.

According to the corporation, the loan liability taken from Employees Provident Fund and Citizen Investment Fund for the aircraft purchased for international flights has been paid.

The corporation has already paid Rs 8.45 billion in installments under the head of loan liability related to the purchase of aircraft till mid-October.

Issuing a press release today, NAC Spokespersons Subash Dangi and Manoj Kumar Sah said that the corporation has been requested to waive the interest, compensation and penalty of interest for the period and to facilitate the loan liability payment by increasing the number of installments as the business of the corporation has been adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Meanwhile, the NAC’s second regular flight of Kathmandu-Guangzhou-Kathmandu sector has also attracted enthusiastic passengers, the statement said.
