. Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) Governor Bishwanath Poudel has said that the current situation is conducive for investment. Stating that the interest rates are low at present, he urged the private sector to work with high morale.

Speaking at an economic debate organized by the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) here today, he said that about TAG_OPEN_p_7 Rs 800 billion has been parked in the central bank, which indicates that investment opportunities have increased. “This is the time to invest, interest rates are cheap,” he said, adding, “If we work with a positive mindset, the economy will go up.” ”

He made it clear that both the government and the NRB are interested in the stability and growth of the economy.TAG_OPEN_p_6 Reminding the private sector to increase spending, Poudel said, “The economy will improve if all sectors run in their respective sectors.” ”

Governor Poudel expressed concern over the increasing trend of Nepal being blacklisted in recent period.TAG_OPEN_p_5 According to him, out of about 18 lakh borrowers across the country, about 1 lakh have been blacklisted, of which about 80 percent are listed due to cheque bounce.

} He pointed out that the morale of the private sector could be affected due to the increase in the number of blacklists.
