Stock market declines by double digits

Kathmandu. The stock market fell by double digits on Wednesday, the fourth trading day of the week. The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index decreased by 20.56 points to close at 2,544.59 points on Wednesday. Today, the sensitive index decreased by 3.33 points, while the float index decreased by 1.33 points and the sensitive float index decreased by 1.09 points.

Although the NEPSE index has decreased, the transaction amount has increased today. Shares worth Rs 3.84 billion were traded in the market today compared to Rs 3.62 billion on the previous trading day. Out of 13 sub-groups, the indices of 1 sub-groups have increased while the indices of 12 sub-groups have decreased. The indices of the production and processing sub-group increased slightly.

On this day, the shares of 4 companies were traded at a positive circuit level. Shares of Geography Energy Development Company, Sagar Distillery, Bungal Hydro and Bandipur Cable Car and Tourism were traded in the positive circuit level on the day.

Today, NRN Infrastructure and Development is at the top position on the basis of transaction amount. Today, the company’s shares worth Rs 40.34 crore were traded. Today, more than Rs 22 crore worth of shares of Radhi Power Company were traded while the turnover of Sahas Energy has crossed Rs 14 crore.
