Myagdi. Myagdi: Churibot of Malika rural municipality-4 in Myagdi district has been electrified.
Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has extended the power facility of the central line at Churibot under the ‘Ujjal Myagdi’ programme. Information Officer at nea’s Myagdi distribution centre Prakash Jha said 130 houses in Churibot have been electrified.
According to him, electricity supply has been started after the installation of poles of the main branch line, pulling of wires, installation of transformers of 100 KVA capacity, wiring and meter boxes in houses.
Earlier, the residents of Churibot had been using electricity from The Dawangkhola Micro Hydropower Project for lighting. Resham Pun, a resident of Churibot, said that after the electricity facility of the central line, it has become easier to use lighting as well as household work, computer teaching in schools, use of electronic devices including mobile and television and internet service.
Myagdi: NeA has launched a plan with a budget of Rs 220 million from the fiscal year 2080/81 BS to expand the electricity facility of the national transmission line to 2,183 households in 14 places of Myagdi.
Earlier, 600 houses of Malika Rural Municipality-1, Niskot, 2 Rum, 3 Dadagaun, Patle, Ward No. 4 Okharbot, 60 houses of Malampar of Dhawalagiri Rural Municipality and 30 houses of Bull have been electrified.
Work is underway to install meter boxes at Lulang of Dhawalagiri rural municipality. Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) Beni Distribution Centre Chief Satya Narayan Gami said the electrification works at Mahabhir of Malika rural municipality and Malkwang of Dhawalagiri rural municipality have reached the final stage.
