Insurance company pays Rs 19.64 crore claim for floods and landslides

Kathmandu. The insurance companies have paid Rs 19.64 crore for the physical and other damages caused by incessant rains, floods and landslides in September last year. A total of 799 initial insurance claims were filed for the damage.

The insurance companies have received an initial claim of Rs 4.19 billion. Out of the claimed amount, a total of 209 claims have been paid to the insured so far, about Rs 19.64 crore, according to the latest data from the non-life insurance companies.

As per the updated data received from 13 non-life insurance companies and 2 micro non-life insurance companies, out of 419 initial claims towards property insurance, about Rs 16.44 crore for 53 insurance claims and about Rs 1.40 crore for 9 claims out of 107 insurance claims for engineering and contract risk insurance. The payment has been made.

Similarly, under agriculture and crop insurance, out of 217 claims, about Rs. 4.17 crores, out of 127 claims, about Rs. 50 lakhs, 40 claims under motor insurance (private) have about Rs. 2.82 crores for 17 claims, and under marine insurance about Rs. 10.65 millions, out of 4 claims, about Rs. 10.65 millions. About Rs 3,27,000 has been paid to the insured.

Similarly, the non-life insurance companies are yet to pay Rs 11.9 million for 10 motor insurance claims and Rs 1.2 million for two claims under micro insurance.
