Dividend of National Level Development Bank High, 6 Failed to Hold AGM on Time

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: As many as 8 development banks have declared dividend from the profit of the last fiscal year. NEPSE-listed 7 national level development banks and one district level development bank have declared dividends to their investors from the profit of the last fiscal year.

According to Nepal Rastra Bank, there are currently 8 national level development banks in operation. Of these, 7 development banks have already declared dividend from the profit of the last fiscal year.

Kamana, Muktinath, Garima, Mahalaxmi, Sinressunga Development and Shangrila Development Bank have declared dividend from the profit of the last fiscal year.

A district level development bank has declared dividend from the profit of the last fiscal year. Green Development Bank has announced that it will provide dividend to its investors from the profit of the last fiscal year.

Similarly, a development bank has called its general meeting announcing that it will not distribute dividend from the profit of the last fiscal year. The remaining 7 district level development banks have not been able to announce the general meeting.

The development banks have distributed dividends ranging from a minimum of 8.46 percent to a maximum of 18.20 percent. Muktinath Bikas Bank has been the largest beneficiary bank in the last fiscal year. The bank has distributed 18.20 percent dividend from the profit of the last FY.

Similarly, Green Development Bank is the development bank which has declared the lowest dividend from the profit of the last fiscal year. The bank has announced a dividend of 8.46 percent from the profit of the last fiscal year.

As per the directives of the Company Act, 2063 BS and the directives of the NRB, the development banks are required to hold their annual general meeting within six months of the end of the fiscal year. According to this provision, 7 national level development banks and 2 district-level development banks have already held the AGM. However, 7 development banks have not yet announced the general meeting.

Kamana Sewa Bikas Bank was the first to complete the AGM of the last fiscal year on October 10, 2082. The bank closed its book on October 24 and held its AGM in November.

Muktinath Bikas, Garima Bikas Bank, Shine Resunga Development Bank, Miteri Development Bank, Shangrila Development Bank, Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank, Green Development Bank and Lumbini Bikas Bank have also held the AGM.

Muktinath Bikas Bank has emerged as the top development bank in the list of development banks declaring the highest dividend from the profit of the fiscal year 2081÷82. The bank has distributed 13.53 percent bonus shares and 4.67 percent cash dividend to its shareholders.

Kamana Sewa Bikas Bank has distributed 10 percent bonus shares and 5.7895 percent cash dividend.

KATHMANDU: Shine Resunga Development Bank has distributed 13 percent dividend to its shareholders including 3 percent bonus shares and 10 percent cash dividend.

Garima Bikas Bank has distributed 10.53 percent dividend including 6 percent bonus shares and 4.53 percent cash dividend. Similarly, Shangrila Development Bank has issued 5% bonus shares and 5.3583

The company has given a total dividend of 10.3583 percent.

Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank has declared 10.37 percent dividend which includes 5 percent bonus shares and 5.37 percent cash dividend. Miteri Development Bank has decided to distribute only 10 percent cash dividend without distributing bonus shares.

Green Development Bank has proposed 8.0396 percent bonus share and 0.4231 percent cash dividend of 8.4627 percent.

Lumbini Bikas Bank has already announced the AGM from the profit of the last fiscal year. However, the bank has announced that it will not distribute any dividend from the profit of the last fiscal year.

According to the data available in NEPSE, some of the listed development banks have not announced their annual general meeting yet. The development banks that have not announced the AGM are Narayani Development Bank, Excel Development Bank, Jyoti Development Bank, Corporate Development Bank, Sindhu Bikas Bank and Saptakoshi Development Bank.
