Failure to make payments on time increases the problem of small contractors fleeing

Kathmandu. Small contractors in Banke district have started to lose their jobs due to lack of timely payment. Chairperson of Banke Contractors’ Association, Lilaraj Upadhyay, said that around 10 percent of small contractors in the district migrate to the district every year due to problem in payment.

Stating that 10 percent of the 653 contractors affiliated to the federal government in the district were unable to work, he said the time has come for the State to think about the small contractors.TAG_OPEN_div_22

} “It has become difficult for the contractors to work adequately as they have not been able to repay the loan on time,” he said, adding, “We had assured to resolve the problem when we met with the ministry and other government bodies about our problem, but the government needs to pay attention immediately to the fact that the payment has not been made.” ”
