Kathmandu. The Public Procurement Monitoring Office is preparing to blacklist 15 companies that fail to complete construction works on time. Action has been initiated against 15 companies based on the recommendations of various public bodies.
The Public Procurement Monitoring Office has issued a notice directing the concerned companies to submit a written explanation within 7 days. If the clarification is not submitted within the stipulated time, it will be blacklisted as per the prevailing Public Procurement Act and Regulations.
The public bodies have recommended action against the companies for not completing the works as per the contract agreement, violating the stipulated deadline and not making satisfactory progress despite repeated reminders.
The office said that the companies concerned have been given the last opportunity to submit written clarifications within seven days. If the clarification is not satisfactory or is not submitted within the stipulated time, it has warned that it will be blacklisted and barred from participating in the public procurement process as per the prevailing law related to public procurement.
The blacklisted companies include Kathmandu-based BKOI Dhulikhel JV Company, Anup Construction of Achham and Achyut Construction and Suppliers Pvt Ltd of Jhapa.
Similarly, Ansun Construction Service Company of Rupandehi, Kripa Engineering Construction and Suppliers Pvt Ltd of Kathmandu, Balaju of Balaju and Nagarjun÷Ashish JV of Kathmandu are among the other companies.
