Kathmandu. Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has said that the supply of petroleum products will remain regular throughout the country even during public holidays. Although the government has declared a three-day holiday for the election to the House of Representatives, there will be no disruption in the supply and distribution of petroleum products.

Managing Director of NOC Chandika Bhatta said that petroleum products are being imported through the pipeline regularly. He said that the import will continue in sufficient quantity during the election period. He said that there is no situation to create unnecessary crowding and artificial shortage in the market on the basis of rumors.

The corporation has stated that various provincial and depot offices of the country will remain open on certain dates even during the public holidays. Consumers have been urged to contact the concerned office if they face any problem in fuel supply.

Meanwhile, the corporation has issued strict directives not to store petroleum products unnecessarily in jerrycans and drums. Filling petroleum products in drums and other utensils is prohibited as unsafe storage of fuel increases the risk of accidents such as fire.

The NOC has urged the consumers to support the consumers by purchasing only the required quantity of fuel, reiterating that it has ensured easy supply in the market.
