Bunnyi. Voting has started here with enthusiasm. Assistant Election Officer of the Chief Election Office, Dilli Prasad Prasain, said that the voting has started in the stipulated time.

A total of 90 candidates are contesting from five constituencies in Jhapa. A total of 713,537 voters are expected to cast their votes in the election. There are 358,346 males, 355,083 females and eight third gender voters in the district.

According to the District Election Office, there were 50,226 more voters and 49 polling centres in comparison to the 2079 BS election. There are 815 polling centres and 285 polling stations in the district. A total of 4,936 employees including 815 returning officers have been mobilized for the election.
